I talk about a whole host of things on my blog (when I'm blogging which may not be too regular!) ranging in topic from my husband to my kids to trips and where we live. I talk about being a Christian and that I love God. I just want it to be clear, in case it hasn't been, about what I believe and I wanted to commit it to paper.
I believe in God and that He created the world.
I believe He sent His son Jesus, born from the virgin Mary, into the world to save us.
I believe Jesus lived and breathed and walked this earth and led a perfect life. I believe He died on a cross and then rose again 3 days later. I believe He is the savior of the world, not just a good or great man. I believe He is the only way to receive Salvation.
I believe in Heaven and Hell.
I believe that Salvation is the act of repenting and believing and accepting God's son.
I believe the Bible is God's holy word. And I believe it to be truth.
I believe that Jesus will return some day, sometime and gather those to Him who have believed in Him.
I believe that the Holy Spirit lives in believers even though I don't understand exactly how that works, or how the trinity works for that matter. But it doesn't make me believe any less.
I believe I am forgiven.
I believe I am to tell others.
I don't know what you believe or where you are in your life. I don't know what you think will happen to you when you die. But I want you to know as simply as possible that there is a God and He loves you. Your life is worth living.
Take care,
Julie

There's something so very terribly wrong about this picture
We came upon this rest area somewhere on our recent trip to Iowa. I'm not exactly sure where we were...Oklahoma? Kansas? Missouri? It really doesn't matter, the point is these were the only available toilets to use at this rest stop! Are they serious?! Do you see the snow?! Who in their right mind would want to do their business while outside in the freezing weather?! Oh my word! Needless to say, I skipped this stop. But my husband? He didn't care. A little old thing like a port a potty didn't stop him from doing what he needed to do. :)
Take care and Happy Monday!

Math student of the day
On Tuesday I spent the day observing in each of my kids classes. This is something the school requires each semester but even if they didn't I would sit in their room anyway. Observing your kid in class gives you such an insiders view into how they spend the majority of their day. I've learned a lot when I've sat in their classes.
I got to Ellie's class in time for Math. Since I was there, Ellie was chosen to be the Math student of the day. (this means they get to lead the class in various math related activities like the calendar, weather, time, counting, etc.) I immediately got my camera out to start snapping pictures of her shining in Math. After I took this picture of her she gave me "the look" and mouthed "No!" to me! :) I had to laugh since it's classic Ellie, not wanting any attention drawn to her no matter what.
Have a happy weekend!
Take care,
Julie

You know that cold I was talking about?
Happy 2010! (Better late than never)
Hey there! Happy New Year!
Last week we were in Iowa with John's family bringing in the New Year. Can you believe all the snow? And don't get me started on the cold! The kids, however, could care less. They had a blast playing with grandma and grandpa and their cousin who's closest to their age.
Hope that 2010 is all you would want it to be. May you find peace, love and joy in all you do throughout the year.
Take care,
Julie
